ExpertBetUK ("we", "us") is the data controller of any personal data collected through expertbetuk.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What we collect
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, device type, browser, approximate region, referrer. Collected via cookies and similar technologies, only with your consent.
- Click identifiers — advertising click IDs (e.g. gclid) appended to inbound URLs. Stored only with your advertising-cookie consent and used solely to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Contact data — your name, email address and message contents if you choose to email us via one of the addresses on our contact page.
We do not collect special-category personal data and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
2. How we use your data
- To operate, maintain and improve the Site.
- To measure the performance of editorial content and (with your consent) advertising campaigns.
- To respond to enquiries you send us by email.
- To comply with legal obligations and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Site.
3. Lawful bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR Article 6: consent (for analytics and advertising cookies), legitimate interests (for operating the Site, security and basic measurement that does not require consent), and contract performance / legal obligation where applicable.
4. Cookies and Google Consent Mode
The Site uses cookies for strictly necessary functions and, with your consent, for analytics, advertising and personalisation. We implement Google Consent Mode v2 with all advertising and analytics signals set to "denied" by default. Your choices are stored in a first-party cookie named sbh_consent for 365 days. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie banner that re-appears after the cookie is cleared.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with the following categories of recipient:
- Hosting and content delivery providers that operate the Site on our behalf.
- Analytics and advertising providers, only when you have granted the corresponding cookie consent.
- Sportsbook partners, when you click an outbound link, in the form of standard click measurement information.
- Regulators or law enforcement, where legally required.
6. International transfers
Where we transfer personal data outside the United Kingdom we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
